Yellow?????

This is my submission for Crafty Secrets Challenge to use the color yellow. More info here: It uses an image from Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps - Domestic Goddess.

In my head this card was going to be very yellow!! Once I finished the card I realized somewhere along the line - my color scheme got lost. I thought I would share anyway....maybe the Crafty Secrets Ladies are COLOR VISIONARIES!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......................

If a dirty shirt is dropped in the hallway on the way to the laundry room - is it rendered INVISIBLE to everyone on the planet except those women with the nickname MOM????

You would think that by now, I would know better than to test this theory in my home. It truly would have been less aggravating to pick it up TWO WEEKS ago when I first noticed it -instead of running this maddening visual challenge for my family.

P.S. Dirty bowls on top of the piano also seem to suffer this strange phenomenon.

I am playing in the sugar bowl......

This cute image is "Braveheart" from the Sugar Nellie's Home Grown collection. I made this card to participate in this weeks sketch challenge at "The Sugar Bowl Blog".

As well as follow the sketch provided, you have to include HANDMADE FLOWERS. I made mine by cutting circles with my nestablilties out of sheet music, crumpling the paper and adding some ink. Lucky for me, my Impress order came this week and I had ordered some flower stamens.

Why I Love Summer...................

Check out this mornings haul from the farmers market!! The local produce market is growing!! I am impressed by the number of vendors and the variety of produce available.
When my hubby and I talk about where to move to when we retire (to escape Minnesota cold, ice & snow) my first requirement is "somewhere they have year around farmers markets".
Well I am off to roast some beets. Awhile back I had a roasted red beet, green apple & ginger salsa that was out of this world!! I am attempting to duplicate the recipe - wish me luck!!

The "Paper Pack" goes digital!!

This months "Paper Pack" (a local card swap) was a "try a new technique challenge". This month each person must make a card using a digital stamp and/or digital paper. I really LOVE how mine turned out.

This great digi image is from McMahon Five Design. I was worried that the image would bleed due to the ink from my laser printer, but I was pleasantly surprised!! I heat set the image and then made the background using alcohol inks. The image remained PERFECT while I RUBBED & RUBBED & RUBBED!!!

The charms are from a great eBay seller called Periwinkle Blue Gap.

"HOO"PS - PAge #5

It is hard to come up with fresh ideas for the kids sports photos when they participate each year. I admit - this on is a little "out of the nest". The paper is from Fancy Pants Designs - Kraft Kuts" line.

Do your own Laundry!!

One of this month's Hanna Stamp Release Challenges was to make a "Back to School" project!!My oldest daughter is off to her Junior year in college. This year she will live off-campus in an apartment. I altered this tin for her. It holds: a sewing kit, shout wipes and a bunch of quarters for her for the laundry machines!!

Pagemaps - Apron Strings Sketch Contest

Remember my goal make one scrapbook page a week in 2009? I think this is layout number 4. I had better get cracking!!

This is for a summer themed layout sketch contest over on the Pagemaps Blog. I LOVE Pagemaps for scrapbook layouts!! A great MoJo jumpstart!!

Cosmo Cricket is one of my favorite paper lines. All the fun paper is from their "Snorkel" line!!

This COULD happen.....Right??!!

This months Hanna Stamps release party challenge was to make a window card. It was way harder than it looked. This idea came to me as I am thinking of joining the "Stamp out Fat" thread on Splitcoaststampers. This way I could find a crafting / weight loss buddy!!

Waiting for Fall

This is this weeks sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers. More trial with the white smooch on the hair. I do not care for how it turned out - I am going to try a dark grey marker instead of a black marker and see how that looks.

Loss of a Pet

Dear friends of our recently lost their beloved furry friend. I made this simple card to let them know that we are thinking of them and that we made a donation to our local Humane Society in their kitty's memory.

Papertrey Ink has two mini sympathy stamp sets (just $5 each) for those who have lost a pet or a child. We always hope we will never need such sets, but the sad truth is I reach for them frequently.

Love me some SMOOCH

This was a card I did for Gina K. July Release Party Challenge #3 ~ Double Take!!
Now when I was coloring the image, I was paying too much attention to the TV and not enough to the image lines (notice the boo-boos on the eyes and the outer leg). I purchased this bottle of White Smooch on Sat so I decided to try to use it like "White Out". In the photo, it does not look like it did a good job of covering the mistakes, but in real life it did a GREAT job!!!
